Pursuant to Article V of the U.S. Constitution, if 2/3 of the state legislatures propose amendments to the U.S. Constitution, a Constitutional Convention must be called. Thereafter, ratification by 3/4 of the states is required to pass the amendments, essentially bypassing Congress (which has been hijacked from we the people by corporate interests). A study by professors at Princeton and Northwestern University* revealed that Congress truly doesn't care about public opinion anymore. They are no longer acting in our interests--and haven't been for many years. It's time for us to regain the power that is rightfully ours. We can achieve this by proposing and ratifying Constitutional Amendments which reform our federal government. These reforms (which nearly every single American favors, across partisan lines), include:
- Performance based compensation paid to our elected officials which is tied to the wellbeing of their constituents;
- Prohibiting corporate lobbyists and for-profit special interests from access to our government officials across the board (including most for-profit organizations which may form a nonprofit to skirt this prohibition);
- Implementing a strict code of ethics and independent watchdogs to ensure compliance;
- Establishing job descriptions and minimum qualifications for elected and appointed officials (we the people have to offer more than lip service to obtain employment, so should our public servants);
- Providing for special elections that can be called by a specified percentage of eligible voters under certain conditions;
- Eliminating gerrymandering;
- Abolishing the Electoral College and overhauling the electoral process;
- Establishing a multi-party political system;
- Revamping how campaigns are funded, including a complete prohibition on donations by corporations and oligarchs;
- Preventing AI from assuming any non-ministerial decision-making, or even contributing to such decisions without crosschecks to ensure accuracy and validity of AI output;
- Limiting the scope of Executive Orders;
- Establishing that corporations are not citizens;
- Overhauling the federal tax code to become the most progressive in the world (meaning that the more net income you receive, the more taxes you pay--no more free rides to the top 10%);
- Requiring a litmus test for officials to invoke emergency powers (if unmet, a permanent injunction shall issue upon application to a federal court by any citizen of these United States);
- Eliminating most corporate subsidies, and more!
We have the means to place power back in the hands of the people--where it belongs! Will you join me in taking back our country?
